Sleep Tight: Chapter 5
Ceasing to exist. The grand finale. The inevitable final act. The end-all.
The Man in the Moon slowly opened his eyes. They were confused, at first. Tired and weary. But, as he began to smile, they filled with a liveliness that betrayed his true state, a boundless kindness shining in them.
As if by an unspoken cue, the Guardians—all except Jack—seemed to relax. One by one, led by North, the four of them went to the Man in the Moon. Sandy floated at his right side, smiling softly. Tooth took a seat at the foot of the bed, crossing her ankles neatly. North took a knee on the left side, his elbows propped up on the bed as he took up the small man’s hand.
“What happened, Manny?” North asked him, voice smaller than Jack had ever heard it be.
“Ah, my old friend, nothing that is not unnatural,” came the gentle reply. The Man in the Moon’s voice sounded just as kind as his eyes and face looked. It was also wi

The moon-rock door swung open as the five Guardians came closer to it.
A giant aquamarine glowworm with a kind face greeted them, standing just beyond the doorway and inside the lunar house. He ushered them inside, welcoming each of them individually with a deep and gentle voice, calling them by their full names and their Guardian titles.
The door was smaller than your average door, forcing the five to enter one at a time. North barely managed to squeeze his large figure inside. Both he and Bunny had to practically fold themselves over in half to avoid hitting their heads, too.
“And lastly, but most definitely not leastly, welcome, Jack Frost, Guardian of Fun,” the glowworm said when it was the winter spirit’s turn. Jack ducked his head to avoid the low clearing (though not nearly as much as the long-eared rabbit and massive man had had to) and went through the doorway.
Is every animal larger on the moon? Jack wondered to himself as he walked past the glowworm,
Sleep Tight: Chapter 3
The last time Jack had felt so awestruck and so caught off-guard by something was when he had first seen North’s sleigh, which had sprouted jet-like wings and was far more modern than he had expected it to be.
They had come whilst the five Guardians were arguing amongst themselves, trying to determine the reason why the Man in the Moon had gathered them all at the North Pole (apparently North had had a feeling in his belly) and, more importantly, why he hadn’t established communications with them. The five had been so engrossed in their argument that they hadn’t noticed the newcomers until their large figures had blotted out what little moonlight shone into the grand reception room, their massive, flapping wings creating a powerful artificial wind that had knocked a good number of elves over. Needless to say, their arrival silenced the Guardians, making them turn their attention to the three insects that stood before them. They were moths.
But they weren&

The girl sat on the branch of a tree, her legs dangling over the side. The branches of other trees hid her well, permitting her to see all, but none able to see her in return. Not even the prying eyes of moonbeams could find her.
Her hands were resting gently on her lap. Loosely held in them was a beautiful flute unlike any other.
She truly loved the instrument. The way the thin layer of diamond surrounding the pure white ivory captured the light. The slight engravings of leafy branches that found their way across its length. The way it sounded, the calm it provided to her as she played it. It seemed to be alive, to connect to the deepest, most intimate parts of her soul, as if a piece of her lived in it. Its songs were her soul’s songs, its notes those of her inner self.
But where it came from, she did not know.
One Winter night, much like the one she sat in now, she had awoken in the middle of a forest, sprawled out on its floor, her head half-buried into the thick layer of sno

The boy laughed.
It was a soft, quiet, content chuckle, filled with mischievousness and boundless love of fun. Anyone who heard it could not help but smile along. When he laughed, the world seemed to perk up and laugh with him.
His bright blue eyes—a stunning color with a pattern based around the pupil of a lighter, more electric blue that closely resembled a snowflake—were admiring his work, scanning it over for any potential errors. He knew he wouldn’t find any. He just liked to stop and take a good look at his creations now and again for his own enjoyment.
I think that’ll do it, he thought to himself as he watched a new arm of white frost swirl into existence on the window before him, sprouting from the place where he had placed the pale tip of his right index finger just moments before. He chuckled again. The frost border, with all of its icy components, was just to his liking.
But now what was he supposed to do? The window had saved him from h
Sleep Tight: Prologue
The night was calm, the air cold and crisp. The stars shone brightly, piercing through the veil of black sky, fighting against one another to have their light to be seen the best. They flickered and twinkled as they laughed at and with one another, filling the universe with a celestial mirth.
They were laughing away their troubles.
For, that night, yet another star had been extinguished. Yet another golden planet. With them, another galaxy.
But all of this went unknown to the inhabitants of this little green and blue planet, a safe haven that was, at the time, not found on any maps of the cosmos. Our planet, whose atmosphere the remaining childlike stars were trying to project their light into.
A peaceful planet where no evil was known.
But that would change on this fateful night.
Winter held the Earth close this night long ago, smothering it in its thick, caring embrace. It permeated everything, wanting to follow the critters and people into their homes as a guest, a family mem
Jack FrostXReader~Part Five
You had nearly forgotten what it was like to live a normal life. For the past two weeks, your life had been swirled in to a wonderful fairy tale. However, after the first week of school you realized that there were other things in life to worry about. You had school work to do, chores to be done, and your friends always called. You found yourself once again caught up in your life you'd been living before you met Jack.
He seemed to sense this as well. His visits that once occurred nightly became more and more spaced out. But when he did come, you would have short bursts of love for him that would slowly drift away until he returned to make your head spin again.
And so there you lay on your bed in the dark, pondering about your relationship with the winter spirit. It had been a snowy February which told you that tonight he would visit you, even though you hadn't seen him in nearly two weeks. There always seemed to be a spike in the winter weather when he came to see you. Even in
Doctor Who - The next 50 yearsJust read this interesting story from Doctor Who fan Mike Falino over on website 'Doctor Who TV' about the next 50 years for Doctor Who that I thought might be of interest to fellow fan's here on Deviant Art.
Is Doctor Who going to be around for another fifty years? Well, in the hearts and minds of fans the show will certainly live forever. In reality though, five or ten years from now television will not be anything like it is today. Will there be a demand or even a venue for Doctor Who? There will always be series, but it is how they are produced, disseminated, and even conceived that will change drastically as streaming technology takes over as the main way to distribute content. With so much being learned from understanding the viewing habits of people who stream content through services such as Netflix or iTunes, I think a more accurate portrait of the wants and desires of viewers is being painted. I think the future of TV content will be based on what the viewer wants to see r

Chapter 3: Revelations
They moved towards the back of the base and climbed the staircase leading towards the room in which the other members of SG1 and General Hammond waited. Captain Carter, the only woman present indicated to Rose and the Doctor the two seats located at the end of the table, facing the others.
"Who are you really?" O'Neill asked the Doctor, abruptly.
"I am the Doctor!" he insisted.
"Doctor of what?" Daniel asked, suspiciously.
"Oh no, no, no. Just the Doctor. That's my name," the Doctor said pleasantly.
"What...uh...race are you?" Carter asked. Unable to hold back, she blurted out: "You have two hearts!"
The Doctor, knowing full well that he could not avoid the question any longer, was resolved to reveal his identity to them. "I am a Time Lord. The last of my species. The only survivor.
"There was a war, the Time War. My people fought a race called the Daleks for the survival of all creation. But they lost I lost, everyone lost! They all died in on

Chapter 2: Welcome to Stargate Command
The TARDIS began to materialize; appearing and disappearing, becoming increasingly visible. The Doctor didn't know where it was going to land, his monitors being out of commission.
In Stargate Command, incomprehension was on every face. SG-12 and 13 had arrived as reinforcements as soon as it alarm had sounded. They all had weapons drawn at the strange blue police box. Colonel O' Neill kept an arm raised to hold fire, waiting. Captain Carter and Doctor Jackson also had their own P90s ready to fire and Teal'c directed its Zat'nik'tel towards the door.
A small squeaking of hinges was heard as the door started to open. O' Neill, made a hand sign, indicating to the teams to hold steady. The door half-opened and a brunet man appeared, a broad smile on his face.
"Oh, hello!" said the Doctor cheerfully. "People! Rose, come look, apparently we're in a military base!"
"A what base?" Rose cried.
The Doctor crossed the threshold and raised his hands a

Chapter 1: A Common Problem
The Doctor, once again, had saved the planet Earth. This time, from a Sycorax threat. It was time for im to set out again towards new adventures. He had just finished Christmas dinner which he had hared with his friends: Rose, Mickey and Jackie. A true Christmas dinner.
Then they went outside to look at snow falling on London. However, after the Doctor's explanations, the snow proved to be ashes of the Sycorax vessel which the Prime Minister Arietta Jones had ordered destroyed. It was a bit less romantic now.
The Doctor walked towards
LithiumA single trickling rain drop
Like gossamer silk strands
Gliding along my third eye
Whispers wind's secret caress
I exhale. Lungs releasing-
Pressing translucent memories;
Fragment of a fragment
As water kisses rose petal,
Drifting down stream's curtain
Pretty little curtain.
Where the wizard lies.
He smiles up at me
With his monocled brow-
Sipping on warm tea
And fingers quacking casually
To the rhythm of his notes
This is a safe-zone. Free-zone.
Innocent eyes sparkle,
Imploring it to be true. I breathe.
